Hi Just moved into my home after renting it for 7 years. Never lived in it before until now. I think there is something wrong with the ducted airconditioning system. It is an Actron with 4 zones, lounge, kitchen, rumpus and bedrooms.
The funny thing is that even when I turn on the zones at lounge, bedroom or kitchen the aircon comes on in the rumpus. Because the rumpus has 2 ducts the strength in the other zones are very weak. And whne I turn on the rumpus, the aircon comes on in the second bedroom. What is wrong with it? The house is architect designed which I bought 7 years ago from the owner who built it 8 years ago.
Also problem with the rendering which I will ask in a seperate thread Thanks. Sorry to rudely interupt someone elses thread!!! I have just moved in a new house and have ducted aircon. Never had aircon before so please excuse my lack of knowledge.

I have a HAN-L62 control panel (only one of) and next to it on the wall (seperate to control panel) I have a switch with four switches where four zones are named (1)bed 1 & Study (2) Living Room and Dining Room etc etc. I know that the control panel has six zones, but I cannot seem to work out why I have six zones on the panel itself and a seperate 4 switch next to it. I cannot work how to zone at all (whether from zoning on panel or 4 switch). The living room seems always to be on whatever zone i select from either the panel or switch and cannot get one of the bedrooms working at all??? Please help summer is soon to arrive in Australia and I am a heat shy pome!! Any suggestions will be most welcome!!
Bless you all.

Temperzone controllers - Hanwest Han-L5 Han-L5 Controller The Han-L5 controller was used, from the late 1990’s until early 2000’s, in Temperzone and Bradway air conditioners throughout Adelaide and Australia. This controller is now obsolete and cannot be purchased as new from suppliers. Second hand products are occasionally available but generally unreliable. Features • Black display screen with green lettering • Slide switch to change modes (Heat/Cool/Dry/Fan) • Clock feature • On and off timer for preset unit operation • Power failure auto on feature • AAA battery clock back up Hints, Tips and Problems Remove the batteries. Sharps Serial Number Research.
This will stop the controller from saving the clock time if you have a black out but will help prevent the batteries leaking and the battery acid eating the electrical components in the back of the controller. This will also help prevent the controller turning on after a blackout. The batteries tend to automatically switch the air conditioner back on once power is restored. Flickering display. As the Han-L5 controllers age, the green lettering tends to flicker while in use.
This is pretty normal and will get worse with time. This is purely cosmetic and will not affect operation until the display is unreadable. Buttons not changing correctly. This is also very common with Han-L5 controllers and DOES affect operation.
The most common version of this fault is the temperature up/down buttons switching the timer function on. When the temperature buttons are pressed, the ‘off’ timer is switched on. This can usually be changed by switching the timer back off if accidentally switched on (cycle all of the way to 12 then -- will be displayed, this means timer is now off again). Temperature display is really high 40 + deg C. Generally indicates the temperature sensor has failed within the Han-L5 controller.
